Category Archives: Bike Projects

I have never been one to have a bike and be content with just having and riding it. Even as a kid I always wanted the latest BMX bike and as I rode for numerous teams it was never a problem because they always wanted me to try something new.

I don’t think it is always a case of wanting something better because often I have gone backwards in the ability of the bike just to try something new (I guess if that was the case i would simply but a new Gas Gas each year and be done with it).

I am not a collector and most of the time I only have 1 bike because I will sell the previous one to fund the next one. I know that this is hardly ever a good idea because you can never get a really good one back once it’s gone but I never really get too attached to them so it is never too much of a big deal.

I guess it is about having something different, which is why most of my bikes do look a bit different from the norm but I think the main reason is that it allows me to do some stuff with my Dad, who is a now retired but is a great engineer and always manages to deliver what I am trying to do (even though he doesn’t always agree) and I don’t get to spend enough time with him so this is as good an excuse as any to keep popping round to his place or calling him. Besides, I think he enjoys seeing me ride them when they are finished too!

This section of the site has a diary (with pictures usually) of each of the projects that we have done since the end of 2006 when I started riding again.

If you have any questions or need more info about any of the projects please leave me a comment or drop me an email to dave@classicrider444.com and I will try to help.
